Hopwood Hall Candidate, Paul Ellison has been getting his hands dirty to clean up grot spots in Hollins. The Conservatrive Candidate took matters into his own hands after he received calls from residents alerting him to the tipping and complaining that Labour Councillors in the area were reluctant to do anything to help.
Paul wasted no time in getting to work and had the site cleared in a metter of hours. He said: "Sometimes you just need to get stuck in and get your hands dirty, residents want someone to get the job done, not give them excuses. This area is used extensively by dog walkers and children playing and it is unthinkable that someone would use the space to dump waste like this. Although this is not council land, fly tipping is certainly an issue and in general not enough is done."
Hollins resident, Wyn Hyland, who was one of the residents who alerted Paul to the problem said: "Special thanks to Mr Ellison for his swift action. I have never seen anyone move so quick, it looks so much better. Paul listens and does something about it.”
