Conservative Councillors have been out and about this week supporting a range of local venues hosting events and heritage open days this weekend.
At least a dozen venues from Rochdale Borough, including Heywood and Middleton Townships and the Pennines have registered events on the Heritage Open Days website: https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/visiting/printable-area-lists/laa/R…; Events have ranged from informative sessions, tours, band concerts and recitals and have been extremely well attended.
In Norden Cllr. Mike Holly, The Current Mayor of the Borough of Rochdale, opend proceedings at St. Paul's Church on Edenfield Road, whilst colleagues Cllr. Jim Gartise and Cllr. Peter Winkler said: "It has been a wonderful celebration of heriatege. Not just that of the church itself, but the session on Saturday afternoon which explored the the history of many building on the village as far back as the 1800's. These hritage events have seen local volunteers open up some of our most iconic a beautiful building to a wide audience who may otherwise never experience them and they are well worth attending."
